All parents will receive a copy of the school rules. Please acknowledge receipt of these by signing your child’s homework notebook and please ensure that your daughter abides by the code of conduct. A black mark system will be operating. When a child receives 5 black marks she will have to attend detention. Please therefore encourage your children to abide by the rules so that they don’t get punished and support the school in this regard. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES will cell phones be allowed at school. If found they will be confiscated and only returned once a fine of R100 has been paid. A parent may then collect it from the office.

Please drop your child/children in the demarcated parking in the car park by the swimming pool or in the places alongside the palisade fence. Please take care when your children disembark. Teachers have allocated parking under the carports. Please do not use this parking.

If your child will be attending Aftercare, an application form will be given to her from the Supervisor at Aftercare on her first day of attendance. Please return fully completed forms, with information from both parents, the following day. Should either of the parents be unavailable an Affidavit is required.

NB. All parents are required to attend these very important class meetings at the beginning of each year. These are called POLICY EVENINGS where the teachers explain homework procedures, expectations for the year etc. It is essential that you attend these class meetings which start promptly at 5:15 pm, on the respective days, in your child’s classroom or as otherwise stated in the hall.

Tuesday 21 January : Gr 2, Gr 3 and all Gr 5’s (hall)
Wednesday 22 January : All Gr 6’s (hall)

This form must be completed by both biological parents. Please note that both sides of this form needs to be completed. If you only have one daughter at LGS fill in her details under “ELDEST CHILD” at LGS.

Today your daughter will take home a legal document agreement to pay school fees. Please fill in your details and return straight away. If this agreement document is not received by 27 February 2014, we will assume that the fees would be paid in full by 27th February 2014 and if not paid then you will be handed over immediately.

Parents we urge you to pay your school fees for 2014 by Cell Phone Banking, Electronic Transfer or Stop Order, as this will cut down on extra bank charges for the school as well as for you. Any parents of girls in Grades 1 to 7 wishing to apply for subsidies (reduction in school fees) must do so, in writing, as soon as possible. Once we have received this written request, you will be sent the necessary forms to fill in.Gr RR and Gr R parents do not qualify for subsidies.

Any monies sent to school via your children must be enclosed in a clearly marked envelope with the child’s name on it and what the money is intended for as well as their official school account no. We encourage children to buy money purses which they can wear around their necks.
