We have started our fourth and final term of 2011. The last term of the year is always a very busy one with work to finish off and many activities and functions taking place.
TRAFFIC SAFETY
Please only park in the bays along the palisade fence along Bulwer Street or in bays in the car park and DO NOT double park or just stop and hold up traffic whilst dropping off or collecting girls.
SPRING WALK
What a wonderful fun-filled day we had on Saturday 17th September. It was a beautiful Spring day for riding, jumping , walking and playing soccer. A big thank you to every single person who attended and made it such a special occasion. We raised a total of R21 506 on the day.
TALENT SHOW
Our LGS Talent Show was extremely successful. A very big thank you to Miss Meyer and Mrs Pieterse for organizing it. Their time and effort really brought out the best in our girls. Well done to all the girls who entered the Talent Show. Thank you to all staff and girls who helped and all parents who attended the Talent Show evening. The show also helped to add to our fundraising efforts by R13 000
ALBANY BREAD COMPETITION
Albany has informed us that they will run their competition again next year. As our school received R4000 from the competition we will enter again. Therefore we have decided to continue collecting the Albany bread packet bar codes. So keep sending them to school.
EXAM TIME
Some of our teachers as well as our Grade 6 and 7 girls will be writing exams this term and we wish them all the best. The Grade 6 and 7 exams start on Thursday 10 November and finish on Wednesday 23 November. During this exam period the girls may leave school every day at 2:00pm to go home and study. However, if they are not staying for sport they need to tell the coaches
CAKE SALE
The next school cake sale will be on Tuesday 18 November. Our Grade 1 and Grade 4 girls will be supplying the cakes. All girls please remember your money purses and money to spend at the cake sale.
SCHOOL BAGS
The Longmarket Clothing shop started selling Longmarket School bags this year. Next year we require every girl who attends our school to have a Longmarket School bag. So if your daughter doesn’t have one yet, consider buying her a bag for Christmas.
HAIR
Parents please ensure that your daughter’s hair is neat and acceptable. While at school, girls may not have wigs, braid extensions, dyed hair or fancy hair cuts/styles.
