Circular 3/2011
25 Feb 2011
MONEY MATTERS
Thank you to all parents who are paying their fees monthly and to those who have paid up in full for the year. You are reminded that payment is due before the 7th of the month. Thank you for also filling in your school fees payment forms correctly and returning them promptly.
Parents who genuinely require assistance with their children’s schooling must submit a written request for an exemption application form. Please note that exemptions do not apply to Grade RR and Grade R learners.
Please consider that you enrolled your child at Longmarket for the school’s present standards and what it offers now. The Governing Body have set the school fees at R7700.00 per learner for 2011, to meet the financial costs of running the school. We therefore require all parents to be united and committed to paying fees, to ensure that Longmarket continues to be the fine school that it is at present.
NB A reminder that the cut off date for: a)submitting completed subsidy forms is by 3 p.m. on Monday 28 February 2011. b)receiving discount for paying fees in full is Monday 28 February 2011. Any payment after this date will not receive discount.
AFTERCARE
In order for the school to pay Aftercare supervisors, we require registration forms to be completed by all learners attending and fees to be paid timeously every month. If your child doesn’t attend aftercare and you have an emergency, please phone the office and a casual form will be completed with a once off payment of R20.00.
CAR PARK
Children, who do not attend aftercare and are not staying for sport, must be collected promptly from the car park next to the swimming pool area. Junior Primary before 1 p.m. and Senior Primary before 2.20 p.m. Please ensure that you daughter is waiting in the correct place, so that no-one especially lift club drivers have to go looking for her and request the office to call for her over the intercom. Check that drivers know when your daughter is playing sport.
Gr RR and Gr R children left at school after 1 p.m. will be sent to Aftercare and the parents will be billed accordingly.
It is of serious concern, the number of children waiting unattended in the car park for hours. These girls are very noisy and are getting up to mischief. They often disobey rules like wandering around the school where they can’t be seen and out of the palisade gate to wait. Fridays are a very big problem as school finishes earlier for Grades 3 to 7 girls and there is no sport. Therefore on Fridays, all girls should be collected by 2 p.m. or be looked after in Aftercare.
LATE COMERS
Parents please endeavour to get your daughters to school timeously. School starts at 7.40 a.m. If they are late they interrupt their class or assembly. We realise that sometimes you have to rely on school transport or lift clubs. Maybe you could have a chat to the driver if your daughter is getting to school late, as maybe they are not aware of it.
TOILETRIES
Thank you to everyone who has brought soap so far. A reminder to the Grade R and Grade 1 girls who have not yet brought toilet paper, to do so as soon as possible. Grade 2 girls can start to bring toilet paper now.
VALENTINE’S DAY
Next Monday 14 February, we will be having a Valentines Fun Day Market. Anyone who wishes to dress up in red, white and pink clothes on Monday needs to pay R5 to their class teacher. The Grade 6 and 7 girls will be running stalls. All the girls at school will be allowed to visit the stalls to purchase items and take part in the fun activities. Parents, please encourage your daughters to start saving their R1 and R2 coins and have them ready in their money purses for Monday.
EXTRA COPIES
Parents please note if you lose circulars, forms, reports etc. and require the office to print you another copy, it will cost 50c per sheet. So please send the money to school when you are requesting a copy.
